BUDGETING FROM THE DESKTOP, PERPETUALBUDGET
Lodi, CA Spicer-Baer Associates, Inc. has released PerpetualBudget v3.00, a distributed desktop budgeting solution for Windows. v3.00 features a new Explorer interface, Budget Builder, Goal Setting Mode, Evaluation Guide, new allocation strategies, standard cost offset controls and multiple Profit Center consolidations from database operations.
This development merged the disparate tools and utilities from v2.40, with the new feature set into a unified graphical interface that runs in Windows or as an Excel child window. This enables budget administrators and Group Users to work in the environment they are most comfortable while providing powerful Excel and database query routines to develop, process and maintain budget information. Navigate and display all budget data from a single interface. Resulting budgets are "master" in scope providing Sales (including orders forecasting), Standard Cost, Expenses and Capital modules. The open and layered architecture allows administrators to develop and deploy the budget in stages.
PerpetualBudget supplies all templates, files and database modules needed to produce full-function corporate budgets with profit center structures up to three levels deep. The budgets are partitioned by profit center allowing easy distribution of budgets to company divisions. The product creates department budgets automatically using configurable controls, distributes them and processes the changes to the master budget. Distribution methods include live local area network and Internet e-mail.
The new tree-based interface also applies to PerpetualWorkbook v3.00. PerpetualWorkbook works with any Excel spreadsheet(s) and creates remote User workbooks of any complexity to share the master spreadsheet(s) data. Automated remote updating of the master spreadsheets avoids human errors and
ensures data integrity. The product upgrade path from PerpetualWorkbook allows customers to migrate their existing spreadsheet budgets to PerpetualBudget at an attractive risk and cost.
